Here at Sugar Moon, we've had trickles of sap this week. We're still waiting for a good run. And now we have a weather system coming in tonight and possibly into tomorrow that will bring more snow, maybe rain. After that, the temperatures are going to get a big higher and we should get something.
Being completely on gravity, we rely on temperature and weather even more than, say, our neighbours, Apparently folks up in Cumberland Co. had a great run Sunday night, unexpectedly.
We've been having a lot of fun at the farm in the meantime, with March Break here in Nova Scotia.
We have tons of snow! So happy for a ll the kids from Halifax who are all really enjoying, since the rest of the mainland really doesn't have much at all, so we hear. Actually, Cumberland Co might have quite a bit too.
We've also really enjoyed all the international visitors this week: guests from Portugal, UK, France, South Korea, Japan, Norway, Mexico, New York, Vancouver and more have been playing in the snow, tasting and learning about maple and trying some sugar on snow. Here are some people who were part of a conference in the city on deep ocean ecology.
