Snowshoeing

Don’t have your own snowshoes? No worries! We have 10 pairs of snowshoes to rent as well as a few pairs of ice grips. Available at the shack - first come, first served.

Whether you’re a beginner or experienced, the best trail to start with is the Rogart Mtn Trail beginning right at our parking lot.

Sugar Moon Farm is the perfect hiking destination.

Start with the Rogart Mtn Trail and then explore from there. We’ve got access to 30+ km of wilderness trails right out our back door!

Skiing

Although there are no groomed trails nearby, you are welcome to cross-country ski the "back way" for a couple of kilometres along the Rogart Mtn Trail. We don't recommend skiing the whole trail - it's steep and narrow and not designed for skis.

Sugar Moon Farm is just down the road from the Gully Lake Wilderness Area off the Kemptown Road. This unique protected area is full of snowmobile, ATV and hiking trails - perfect mountain biking and back-country skiing opportunities. Just check with us before setting out - it's a big, wild area and you should have a map.

Wentworth Ski Hill is only 30 minutes from Sugar Moon Farm and boasts some of the best downhill skiing, snowshoeing and back-country skiing around. The Wentworth Hostel is near the ski hill and worth checking out: it's charming, economical and surrounded by amazing trails and views.
