Scott fired up the evaporator late afternoon today, and he and Matt are down there now boiling. It’s the first boil of 2019!!
Thermometers are giving him issues.
😠Three of them and none agree!
Driving rain has ended and it’s
just warm and damp out. The sap will likely run all night. Scott will make a decision at some point to shut things down til tomorrow, depending upon the rate of flow.
The weather reminds me of that
night years ago (1998) when Scott and I started boiling at around 9 pm Monday and didn’t stop til Wednesday morning. The sap ran so hard we couldn’t keep up! Maybe this run will be another good
one.
